So Ive been obsessively checking the leaks for the Model Y Juniper refresh and Im pretty sure Im pulling the trigger as soon as the orders open up. Im based in the PNW so my biggest concern is the interior getting absolutely wrecked by rain and mud within the first week. Im trying to prep my delivery day kit but Im torn on which direction to go for the essentials.

Ive narrowed down the floor mat situation to two main contenders. First is the 3D MAXpider Kagu set. They look super sleek and seem to fit the vibe of the new interior better, especially with that updated dash and ambient lighting everyones talking about. But theyre like 250 or 300 bucks. The second option is the Tesmanian full set. Theyre way cheaper and look like they could hold a gallon of spilled milk without flinching, which is a huge plus since I have two toddlers. Im just worried theyll make the car feel like a utility van instead of a luxury EV.

My constraints and needs are basically:

  • Budget is strictly 500 dollars for the first wave of stuff.
  • Must have high lips to catch Seattle slush and mud.
  • Needs to include those hidden storage bins because the Tesla consoles are basically just deep black holes where I lose my keys.

Is it worth blowing half my budget on the pretty mats, or should I go rugged with Tesmanian and use the savings for a Spigen screen protector and some high-quality trunk liners? Im also seeing some people mention those under-seat vent covers are a must so junk doesnt slide in there. Does anyone who got the Highland Model 3 think the interior materials are sensitive enough that I should prioritize seat covers too or is that overkill? Just trying to make sure I dont regret the cheap route when the car finally shows up...

Just saw this. I've been super happy with my budget setup for years. Are you planning on doing a lot of hiking or is this just for city rain? I went with LASFIT Tesla Model Y All Weather Floor Mats TPE because they're cheaper and held up through three winters.

  • LASFIT floor mats
  • Topfit Tesla Model Y Center Console Organizer Tray Stayed way under budget and they're reliable, no slipping or smells.

> Budget is strictly 500 dollars for the first wave of stuff. Unfortunately, the premium mats werent as good as expected for handling heavy PNW mud. Are you planning to keep this car long-term? Quick tip: skip full seat covers as they often block the airbags and seat cooling. I suggest LASFIT Floor Mats for Tesla Model Y for better value. The Farasla Tesla Model Y Center Console Organizer is also a necessity for that deep console.

Im so pumped for you to get the Juniper! PNW rain is a total beast and honestly you gotta go the rugged route since you have toddlers. I love the look of the sleek mats too but spending 300 bucks on floor mats when you have kids is just asking for a headache. The moment a juice box hits those expensive ones you will regret it! Heres how I would spend that 500 dollar budget to get the most bang for your buck:

  • Go with the Tesmanian Tesla Model Y All-Weather Floor Mats Full Set. These things are like tanks. The high lips are incredible for catching mud and Seattle slush. They dont look like a utility van once they are actually in the car, they just look like you are prepared for real life.
  • Grab the Spigen Tempered Glass Screen Protector for Tesla Model 3 and Model Y. The screen is the whole car basically and kids love poking it with sticky fingers. It makes wiping off smudges so much easier and protects against scratches.
  • For those deep consoles, the Spigen Center Console Organizer Tray for Model Y is a total lifesaver. It keeps your keys and coins from vanishing into the void.
  • You 100 percent need the Basenor Tesla Model Y Under Seat Air Vent Covers. If a stray Cheerio or a small toy slides into those open floor vents, you will never get it out and it might rattle forever. Seriously, get these first. Dont worry about seat covers yet! The new materials are actually really easy to wipe down. Use the extra cash for the trunk and frunk liners instead.

Regarding what #1 said about "Im so pumped for you to get the..." unfortunately budget mats were a total disaster for me. How much mud are we talking?
