Hey everyone! I just took delivery of my new i4 and I'm absolutely loving the car, but the standard carpet mats aren't going to cut it for long-term protection. I live in a pretty rainy climate, so I'm looking for high-quality all-weather mats that provide a perfect fit. I’ve been looking at the official BMW liners, but I’ve also heard great things about TuxMat and WeatherTech. I’m specifically looking for something that offers good coverage for the dead pedal and doesn't slide around. Has anyone tried these options, or is there another brand I should consider? Which mats would you say offer the best balance of style and durability for the i4 interior?

> I’ve been looking at the official BMW liners, but I’ve also heard great things about TuxMat and WeatherTech. ok so basically i4 floor protection is tricky cuz the dead pedal area gets soaked fast. i've tested the BMW i4 All-Weather Floor Liners and TuxMat BMW i4 Floor Mats. the BMW ones are decent but the TuxMat covers way more carpet for about the same price. honestly, if ur in a rainy spot, TuxMat is the way to go cuz it basically seals the footwell... gl!

Similar situation here - I tried 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Floor Mats for BMW i4 cuz of the technical backing. * it works without sliding
* lowkey looks way more premium than rubber Decent option!

I really have to agree with the point about the dead pedal coverage being the make-or-break feature for our cars. I am still pretty new to the i4 world but I have been diving deep into the technical specs of the materials because I want to do all the maintenance myself. From what I have gathered as a DIYer, you really have to look at how easy these things are to pull out and spray down in your driveway versus needing a professional detailer to get the gunk out of the grooves. I have been comparing two main DIY-friendly options that haven't been fully broken down yet:

  • WeatherTech FloorLiner: These are very rigid, which is a huge plus for DIY cleaning because you can lift them out like a tray without spilling salt or water onto the carpet. The downside is they can feel a bit like hard plastic and might lose their shape if you aren't careful.
  • Husky Liners WeatherBeater: These are generally a bit more rubbery and flexible. It makes them easier to handle when you're trying to wedge them into the footwell yourself, but they might not have that laser-cut precision look that some of the more expensive brands offer. Since I am trying to handle all the car protection myself, I am mostly worried about the maintenance. Does anyone know if the WeatherTech ones actually need that special cleaner they always advertise, or can I just use basic soap and water?

Just caught this thread and congrats on the new i4, it's a stellar machine. I’ve done a fair bit of market research on interior protection for high-voltage vehicles lately and honestly, it’s a bit of a minefield with all the different materials out there. To give you a better breakdown, I've got a couple questions first: 1. Are you dealing with strictly rain, or is there road salt/slush involved too? That realy changes the material specs you should look for. 2. How much do you care about the texture matching the OEM Sensatec or Vernasca finish? My current setup was chosen after a lot of trial and error with different thermoplastic specs. Basically, what I learned is: * High-wall coverage is great but some materials tend to warp near the door sill over time due to heat cycles. * The friction coefficient on the underside is key; if the nibs or backing aren't precise, they'll shift and mess with the pedal clearance—which is a safety issue, tbh.
* I found that 'waterproof' doesn't always mean 'stain-resistant' when it comes to the specific TPE blends used in newer EVs. Wait, actually, check your production date too, cuz some of the floor dimensions changed slightly in the newer builds. Let me know those details and I can point you toward the right industrial specs!

I went through this last year and grabbed Lasfit BMW i4 Floor Mats for $89! TPE material specs look amazing and they're way cheaper than OEM. Literally such a budget win! GL!
