I just picked up a G80 M3 and really want to dial it in! I'm debating between a high-flow intake, a midpipe for better sound, or maybe lowering springs to sharpen the handling. It's my daily driver, so I don't want anything too aggressive. Which mods offer the best performance gains without sacrificing comfort?
sooo i just saw this thread and honestly, if ur dailying the G80, you gotta be a bit cautious with how far you go. i mean, the power is already insane right? i would suggest looking at the Eventuri Gloss Carbon Intake System for BMW G80 M3 if you want that sweet induction sound without making the car feel like a track toy. basically it helps the turbos breathe but it's super high quality so you wont get those annoying check engine lights like some cheaper kits. plus it looks *amazing* under the hood. i'm always a bit cautious with lowering since it can ruin the ride quality, so maybe check out the MSS Adjustable Ride System for BMW M3 G80 instead of fixed springs. it lets you dial in a mild drop while keeping that factory comfort... i hate scraping on speed bumps tbh. just make sure you get a professional alignment after! it really helps keep the tires from wearing weirdly. good luck with the build!
yo, stumbled upon this. unfortunately, i spent a ton on a high-end intake last year and it was totally not as good as expected... basically just paid for carbon eye candy. i found the MAD BMW G8X M3 M4 Single Midpipe actually gave way more bang for my buck sound-wise. i also tried H&R Sport Lowering Springs for BMW G80 M3 cuz they're way cheaper than HAS, but i had issues with the fixed height being too low for speedbumps. gl!
TL;DR: Grab a midpipe for the sound and some springs for the stance. Best combo for a daily! For your situation, I would suggest starting with a midpipe and some lowering springs. In my experience, the G80 stock exhaust is just a bit too tame, but a midpipe wakes it up *perfectly* without being obnoxious when you're just cruising. Honestly, just get any midpipe from Active Autowerke or maybe Valvetronic, you really can't go wrong. For the handling, I’ve had great luck with brands like H&R or KW. They’ll drop the car just enough to look aggressive but keep that daily driver comfort you're looking for. I mean, an intake is cool for the induction noises, but ngl, the performance gains are kinda small compared to how much a midpipe changes the experience. So yeah, definitely do the exhaust first and see how you like it... gl with the new M3!
