Looked at OEM bars but heard they whistle a ton. I also checked Thule WingBars but not sure if they fit the Sport trim flush rails for my Vermont trip next month.

  • Under $800
  • Quiet at 70mph
  • Easy removal

Which setup is actually best for the GV70?

I went with Yakima after worrying about OEM noise on my last trip.

Re: "I went with Yakima after worrying about OEM..." - honestly sounds like Thule and Yakima are the big winners here, but i wanted to chime in with a third option i've been super happy with. the oem ones really do whistle like crazy... i actually returned mine after three days. i ended up going with the Rhino-Rack Vortex StealthBar Black 2 Bar Roof Rack and its been solid for about six months now. basically it sits lower than the yakimas which i think looks way cleaner on the gv70 sport. paid around $450 total so it definitely hits that under $800 goal easily. plus you dont need separate feet and bars, its all one unit. if youre worried about noise on the highway to vermont, these are basically silent at 75mph. just make sure you get the right length for the flush rails. happy to help if you need the specific part numbers for the fit!

I totally agree, the noise on those OEMs is brutal! If you want absolute safety, check out the Yakima Whispbar Flush Bar Black Roof Rack. These are amazing because the airfoil shape reduces lift and drag by 70%. The SmartFoot tech is honestly the best part... it creates a precise, mechanical lock on the GV70 rails that wont shift at high speeds. Its fantastic for long-term reliability!

Ive been using the Thule WingBar Evo 135 Black Aluminum WingBar Evo 53 in with the Thule Flush Rail Edge Foot Pack 7206 and the Thule Fit Kit 186095 for my Sport trim. Im honestly really happy with how it turned out. I checked out the OEM bars too but they felt a bit flimsy compared to this. The Thule setup is super reliable for my ski trips and feels way more solid.

  • Super quiet at 70-75mph with no annoying whistles.
  • Total cost was about $670, so fits your $800 limit easily.
  • Removing them is simple once you do it once or twice.
  • The fit is very secure on the flush rails. Ngl, having that extra peace of mind that nothing is gonna fly off on the highway is worth the bit of extra cash.
