I just picked up my new IONIQ 5 and I'm loving it, but the carpet mats it came with aren't going to cut it for the upcoming rainy season. I'm looking for a solid set of all-weather floor mats that offer a perfect fit, especially around the sliding center console area. I've looked at the OEM ones, but I've heard brands like TuxMat or WeatherTech might offer better coverage for the dead pedal and rear floor. Since it's a premium EV, I want something that looks sleek and isn't too 'industrial' looking. Does anyone have experience with which brand fits the unique floor layout best? What are you all using to keep your interior clean?
> TuxMat feels more high-end but just get some cheap 3D Maxpider clones if ur on a budget tbh!!
Ok so +1 to what was said earlier! Honestly, if you want that premium vibe without the industrial look, 3D MAXpider KAGU Series Floor Mats for Hyundai IONIQ 5 are literally amazing. I was kinda worried about safety too, but these fit SO snug and don't slide at all. Plus, they look way more like fabric than rubber, which is fantastic for the I5's interior! peace
Hmm, I've had a different experience when it comes to those high-end mats. Not to disagree with the TuxMat fans, but honestly, I'm a bit concerned about the safety aspect of those super thick covers. I've seen them bunch up or interfere with pedal travel in other cars after they wear in, and with a car as fast as the I5, I don't wanna take that risk!!
I'd actually suggest a different approach and look at the 3D MAXpider KAGU Series All-Weather Floor Mats for Hyundai IONIQ 5. They are much sleeker, way less industrial than WeatherTech, and literally half the price of TuxMat sometimes if you find a deal.
* Safety: They have a patented anti-skid backing that REALLY stays put without damaging the carpet.
* Price: Usually around $170-$200 for the full set.
* Fit: Perfectly molded for the sliding console.
Basically, I'm super satisfied with them cuz they look premium but don't feel like a trip hazard. Anyway... just my two cents! gl!
Any updates on this?
Ok so I looked at WeatherTech vs TuxMat and honestly, WeatherTech is way too industrial for the I5. TuxMat feels more high-end but just get some cheap 3D Maxpider clones if ur on a budget tbh!!
sooo I was in the same boat when I got my I5 and I'm super happy I went with TuxMat Floor Mats for Hyundai IONIQ 5. honestly the coverage is NEXT LEVEL... basically covers every inch of the carpet, even way up behind the pedals. unlike the industrial-looking WeatherTech ones, these have a reallyyy sleek, premium texture that actually matches the car's interior. plus, they handle the sliding console perfectly without any weird gaps. definitely go with those if you want to keep things clean!
