I just got this 2022 Jeep Compass Trailhawk back in March and honestly I’m starting to regret it a little bit because of how sluggish it feels. I took it out to some trails near the Ozarks last weekend and man, it just feels like it’s struggling to get up any kind of decent incline without screaming its head off. I’ve been scouring the forums for weeks trying to find ways to actually get some more pep out of this 2.4L Tigershark engine but everything I find is so conflicting.

I saw some guys swearing by the Pedal Commander to fix the lag but then other people say it’s just a waste of money that tricks your foot and doesn't actually add any real power. Then I looked into a cold air intake like K&N or something but half the people online say the stock airbox is already efficient and I’ll just be sucking in hot engine air. It’s so frustrating because I love the look and the size of this thing but I need it to actually move when I step on the gas. My budget is around $900 right now and I really want to get this sorted before my next trip in three weeks.

Is there anything that actually works for performance or am I just stuck with a slow car? Like is a piggyback tune even worth it or is it gonna fry my warranty? I just want some actual power accessories that aren't just for show...

I tried chasing more power on my last Jeep and honestly it was just a loud disappointment. I spent way too much on an intake that did zero for my low-end torque on hills and just made it scream more.

Totally agree about the filter, its such a simple win! Obsessing over squeezing every pony out of mine used to be my whole personality. One time I stripped out all my heavy gear for a solo run and honestly, it felt like a brand new car! Amazing how much weight drags these down...

  • ditch the heavy roof rack
  • travel light on fuel Its basically free performance and keeps your budget safe for actual trail fees!
