ive been scanning the dallas area for weeks trying to find a certified pre owned lexus es because i want that warranty peace of mind since i keep my cars forever. my budget is strictly 30k which is proving to be a headache. i was looking at a 2019 es 350 but the dealer is firm at 32k. then i saw a 2021 es 250 in my range but the engine felt sluggish compared to the v6. so my logic was maybe i should just get a 2018 to save cash but i really love the newer body style. is it even possible to find a 2019 or newer cpo under 30k right now or am i just chasing a ghost?

^ This. Also, broaden your search radius.

  • Inventory for the Lexus ES 350 2019 Base is better in smaller markets
  • Youll avoid the Dallas metro markup and find more flexible pricing

Youre cutting it close. Most CPO Lexus ES 350 2019 units stay above 30k. Focus on higher mileage examples that still meet L/Certified criteria to hit that specific price point.

Unfortunately, the 2019 redesign is holding its value way too well for that budget. Most dealers wont budge under 30k for a CPO Lexus ES 350 because the certification costs are high. The Lexus ES 250 AWD was a disappointment for me too; that engine is just not as good as expected for a luxury sedan. It lacks the refinement you get with the V6 and feels sluggish on the highway. Quick tip: look for a non-certified unit with a clean service history and buy the Lexus Extra Care Platinum extended warranty yourself from a separate dealer. You can often find better deals this way while still getting the peace of mind you want. It is a bit of a headache, but the newer body style is definitely worth the wait if you can save a bit more or find a high-mileage private sale.

Unfortunately, finding a 2019 or newer Lexus ES 350 with L/Certified status under 30k is basically a losing battle right now. It is quite disappointing because those cars are the gold standard for reliability, but the market just isnt budging. You are better off just checking the official Lexus pre-owned website daily. They have a certified inventory search tool that lets you filter by price and model year across different regions, which is way more accurate than third-party sites. I also remember seeing a really detailed breakdown on YouTube about why the 7th gen ES is holding its value so well compared to older generations. Just search for something like Lexus ES 350 market value guide and you will see why the 30k mark is so hard to hit for a CPO unit. Your best bet is to just keep refreshing the manufacturer search page every morning and hope a high-mileage unit pops up.
