I finally pulled the trigger on a new FL5 Honda Civic Type R, and man, this car is an absolute blast right out of the box! The handling is sharp, but I’m already starting to think about how to squeeze a bit more performance and personality out of it. Since it's my daily driver but I also plan on hitting a few track days this summer, I’m looking for accessories that offer a noticeable improvement without being too 'over the top.'

I’ve been eyeing a few things already, like an upgraded intake—maybe the Eventuri system—for that extra induction sound and a slight bump in response. I’m also curious if switching to a set of lighter forged wheels or upgrading the brake pads to something like the Project Mu or Hawk compounds would be the best first step. I’ve heard mixed things about rear motor mounts; some say they help with wheel hop, while others say the vibration is too much for a daily driver.

I really want to keep the car's balance while sharpening the edges. Since I'm trying to be smart with my budget and not void the warranty just yet, what are your top-tier performance accessory recommendations that provide the best bang for the buck for a CTR?

Sooo I compared the Eventuri Carbon Fiber Intake System to the PRL Motorsports High Volume Intake. The Eventuri looks sick but its pricey for the gains, whereas the PRL is basically the same performance for way less cash. Also, I totally regretted the Hasport Rear Motor Mount 62A... the NVH was just brutal for my daily, unfortunately. TL;DR: Get Project Mu HC+ Brake Pads and the PRL intake. Skip the RMM cuz it's highkey annoying!! peace

For your situation, here is what I recommend: definitely grab some EBC Yellowstuff Brake Pads DP42312R for about $150 and Motul RBF 660 Racing Brake Fluid. literally the best budget safety upgrade! keeps things reliable without voiding ur warranty... maybe skip the pricey intake and just do a K&N Replacement Air Filter 33-5100 for $60? basically gets u that response for way less cash. gl! 👍

Saw this earlier but just now responding... honestly, i feel u on wanting that balance. I unfortunately wasted a ton of cash on flashy parts that didnt do much for the lap times. For a daily that hits the track, compare Ferodo DS2500 Brake Pads (around $250) vs Paragon P3 Track Brake Pads. The Ferodos are legendary but the squeal when they're cold is kinda annoying for a daily, you know? The Paragons are way better value imo and handle the heat better during 20-minute sessions. > I’m looking for accessories that offer a noticeable improvement without being too 'over the top.' Also, skip the expensive forged wheels for now—sets like Titan 7 T-S5 Forged Wheels are sick, but for way less cash, grab some RV6 Performance Front Camber Ball Joints. Adding that negative camber is literally the best 'bang for buck' mod. Without it, youre gonna chew through the outer edges of your tires in one weekend, which is a total vibe killer lol. Keep it simple first!
