What are you guys using for cargo management in the Rivian EDV because the stock setup is driving me insane. I just took delivery of my van for my route in Seattle and everything is sliding around back there and the built-in rails dont even fit the straps i already own which is just so frustrating.

Im looking for bins or divider systems that actually lock into the floor because right now its a total mess every time I hit the brakes. Got a 2000 dollar budget to fix this before my busy season starts next month and i really need to get organized before I lose my mind...

Building on the earlier suggestion, I have been very satisfied with how specific modular units integrate with the EDV floor specs. For a 2000 dollar budget, you can definitely get a setup that wont move an inch.

  • Sortimo SR5 Van Shelving System is my favorite for this rig. It is super lightweight aluminum and the drawer units have high-spec locking mechanisms that handle the torque of the electric motor well.
  • Weather Guard Heavy Duty Steel Shelving 9354-3-01 is the cheaper, heavier alternative. It is built like a tank but the extra weight might slightly impact your range in that Seattle hill traffic. I am very happy with the Sortimo components because they basically click into place. No complaints about cargo sliding around during hard braking anymore. Honestly, the technical fit is just way better than the stock bins.

Just catching up on this... honestly I was pretty bummed when I realized the stock EDV rails were so picky. I had a whole kit of straps that were basically useless on day one which is a joke for a commercial rig. It is just not as good as expected for the price point. If you want stuff to actually stay put without spending 5k, here is what I did to keep things organized:

  • Milwaukee PACKOUT Mounting Plate
  • You can bolt these down and they are solid. Then you just snap in Milwaukee PACKOUT 3-Drawer Tool Box units. They lock together tight and dont fly forward when you hit the brakes.
  • Adrian Steel ADseries Shelving Unit
  • These are way more rugged than the stock ones and much cheaper than the high-end aluminum brands. I had issues with lighter shelving bending under heavy loads anyway.
  • Erickson L-Track Tie-Down Kit
  • If you want to keep using the rails, get a dedicated kit like this instead of trying to mix and match. I really wanted to love the built-in system but it is just a bit of a letdown... kinda frustrating to have to spend more just to make it functional before your season starts. Good luck in Seattle, the hills there definitely dont help with sliding cargo.
