So I finally took delivery of my Lyriq and man that interior is way too nice to ruin. Im in the Pacific Northwest so the mud and rain are basically my life right now and I need mats like yesterday. I checked out the official Cadillac accessory ones but they look kinda thin in the pictures and I read a forum post saying they dont cover enough of the sides or the dead pedal area. TuxMat keeps popping up in my ads and they look great but I heard they can be a pain to install with all those clips. Plus they are like $200ish which is my hard limit. Has anyone tried those specifically in the Lyriq yet or should I just go with the basic WeatherTechs?

In my experience, fit is everything when it comes to safety and preventing pedal interference. Over the years, I've tried many brands and usually prioritize a secure lock to the floor.

Yeah, that point about the center console in the second reply is spot on. If you dont get that fit right, the mats just wont sit flush. Tbh I have gone through plenty of these and there are some solid ways to get good coverage without hitting that TuxMat price point.

Coming back to this after doing some digging. Unfortunately, finding a decent set that covers the dead pedal without costing a fortune is way tougher than I expected. Tried to compare some of the newer brands online. Honestly? The lack of consistency in the feedback for the Lyriq is pretty disappointing. It feels like everyone is just guessing on the fit tho. It's frustrating. Quick question though... do you have the AWD or the RWD trim? I think I heard somewhere that the floor pan dimensions might be slightly different between those two models, but I am not 100% sure. IIRC some owners had issues with gaps near the console because the mat didn't match their specific drivetrain layout. It would be a total waste of money to buy something that lets mud leak onto the carpet anyway. Let me know.

Oh man, seeing a brand new Lyriq interior get hit with that PNW mud would literally break my heart! I saw your post a few hours ago and it totally reminds me of the absolute nightmare my brother-in-law went through with his new truck last winter. He was so paranoid about the carpet that he went out and bought these generic rubber things from a big box store because he needed them right away. It turned into a total safety disaster that I still bring up at every family dinner!

  • The mats were so stiff that they never actually sat flat on the floor
  • He was driving in a heavy storm and the mat slid forward, pinning the accelerator down
  • He had to shift into neutral while screaming just to stop the car
  • When he finally pulled them out, the underside was soaking wet and grew this fuzzy green mold It was honestly such a mess and a huge safety risk. He spent like three days straight with a hair dryer and a gallon of vinegar trying to kill the smell, but the reliability of that carpet was basically gone. It is wild how much a bad fit can ruin the whole experience of a new car! PNW rain is just relentless, honestly it feels like it finds a way into everything if you arent careful. I just remember the look on his face when he realized he almost totaled his ride over a cheap piece of rubber... totally insane. Anyway, just had to share because that Lyriq is a fantastic piece of tech and I love the look of it!

Regarding what #1 said about "In my experience, fit is everything when it..." - be careful with edge curling. Do you have the center floor console? Try 3D MAXpider KAGU TPE Cadillac LYRIQ Mats.
