So I just picked up my new ESV and honestly I am panicking a little bit because the weather here in Grand Rapids just took a turn for the worst and I’ve got nothing but the factory carpet mats in there right now. I’ve been driving Escalades since the 2010 model year so I’m not a total newbie to this but the floor layout in the new 2024s is so much more intricate than the old GMT900 or even the K2XX stuff with the sliding tracks and the way the console moves it just feels like there are a million more ways for salt and slush to get into the crevices.

My logic was to just go with the standard WeatherTech HP liners because they have always worked for me in the past but when I looked at the photos for the ESV specifically it looks like the third row coverage is kind of a joke? Like there is this huge gap near the seat rails where my kids are definitely going to drop a melted milkshake or something. I was thinking about TuxMat because everyone says the coverage is better but I’m worried they look a bit too quilted and might be a pain to clean once the salt dries into the creases. Plus I heard they can be kind of slippery when your boots are wet and with a three year old climbing in and out that sounds like a disaster waiting to happen.

I need something that handles the Michigan winter but doesnt look like I put industrial plastic in a $110k truck. Budget isnt really the bottleneck here I would spend 500 or 600 bucks if it actually protected every inch of that carpet. I’ve got a family trip up to the cabin on Friday so I need to get these ordered like tonight to have any hope of them showing up. Has anyone tried the 3D MAXpider ones in the long wheelbase version? Or should I just suck it up and get the GM accessory ones even though the rear coverage looks mid at best. Just trying to figure out if there is a brand I am missing that actually accounts for the ESV length properly without leaving the hump between the captains chairs totally exposed...

Honestly man, if you are looking for that perfect balance between premium aesthetics and raw protection, you HAVE to look at the 3D MAXpider KAGU All-Weather Custom Fit Floor Liner. I have been nerding out over their construction lately and it is actually fascinating tech! They use a specialized three-layer structure where the top layer is a thermoplastic rubber with this sick carbon fiber texture that looks amazing in a high-end cabin like the Escalade. It really doesnt have that industrial plastic vibe at all. The real technical magic is the middle XPE foam layer tho. It dampens road noise and provides a bit of cushion which feels great underfoot during long drives. Most importantly for your ESV, their 3D laser scanning is incredibly precise around those intricate sliding tracks and the power-sliding console. I have seen these installed and the way they lip up against the seat rails is phenomenal fitment. They do not leave those massive gaps that standard liners do, which is exactly what you need for the milkshake-dropping zones. Plus, that patented MAXpider bottom layer uses these tiny fibers that grip the factory carpet like crazy without damaging the fibers, so they wont budge even with a three year old climbing in and out. It is basically the best grip-tech on the market right now. If you want full coverage for that third row and the pass-through between the captains chairs, these are a total win. You get the protection of a deep bucket liner without making your $110k truck look like a utility van. Love it!

Does your ESV have the power sliding console? Husky beats WeatherTech on coverage.

Regarding what #1 said about "Man, I tried those big name liners and..."

  • I totally get the frustration with salt seeping in! If you want absolute maximum protection that doesnt look like a construction site, you have to try TuxMat Custom Fit Floor Mats for 2021-2024 Cadillac Escalade ESV. They are amazing! The coverage goes so high up the side walls that its basically impossible for slush to touch the carpet. I love mine and they feel super safe since they clip into place so they never slide around. Youre looking at around $200 for the full set.
  • Coverage is class-leading
  • Tucks under the plastic trim for a built-in look
  • Actually really easy to wipe down Speaking of cleaning, I spent all Saturday morning scrubbing my garage floor because the salt buildup from my truck was actually pitting the concrete. Its crazy how much damage Michigan winters do! I actually found a bunch of old golf tees in the drain too... anyway, hope you find the right mats before your trip! but yeah.

Re: "Man, I tried those big name liners and..." - honestly, be careful with anything that claims total coverage near those sliding tracks. I think I heard some guys mention that even the fancy custom ones can get stuck if the material is too thick... not totally sure, but IIRC, the factory liners might be the safest bet for those moving seats. You wouldnt want to jam the motor or anything. Just something to consider before you buy.

Man, I tried those big name liners and unfortunately they were a total letdown. Salt just seeped through the track gaps... it was a nightmare tho. You really need something with much higher edges.
