I just got the call that my Taycan is ready for pickup this Friday and I'm honestly panicking a little bit because I realized I haven't bought a single thing for the inside yet. This is my first real luxury car so I'm totally lost and I feel so stupid asking this but what do people actually put in these things to keep them nice? I live in Seattle so its basically always raining and I'm terrified of ruining the floors or the seats the first week I have it. I have about $500 set aside for some immediate stuff but I dont even know where to look or what brands are good.
I saw some people talking about screen protectors for the dash which sounds crazy but maybe it's a thing? My kids are gonna be in the back sometimes too and I just want to make sure I'm not missing anything super obvious that everyone else knows about. Are there specific mats that fit better or like some kind of organizer for that weird space in the middle? I have literally no idea where to start and I'm picking it up in like three days so I need to order stuff fast. What are the absolute must-have interior accessories I need to get before I drive it off the lot?
Saw this earlier and wanted to jump in since I went through the same thing. I eventually found a setup that works well.
Just saw this thread and ngl, I wasted so much money when I first got my car. I thought buying the official Porsche cleaning kit was the move, but unfortunately, the interior cleaner was super greasy and left streaks everywhere. Not as good as expected for the price tbh. I also had issues with those cheap generic felt organizers for the center console... they never fit right and just rattled constantly. If youre in Seattle, you definitely need to protect the trunk area too. I ended up getting the WeatherTech Cargo Liner Black Porsche Taycan because the carpet back there is a magnet for damp gear. For the seats, especially with kids, skip the dealer stuff. Ive been using Sonax Leather Foam 400ml for years and it keeps things looking factory matte without the weird oily film. Better to spend the cash on things that actually work than the fancy branding tho...
Honestly, most the interior stuff I bought early on was a letdown. I had issues with several high-end liners that didnt stay in place, which was really disappointing for the price. Before you drop your budget on things that might not work, are you more worried about the rain and mud on the floors or are the kids the main threat to the upholstery?
